Working on our bellies in Bologna
Taking advantage of a UK long weekend, we spent 4 days in Bologna.
A very beautiful Italian city, well known for its endless portico’s, pasta (yes ... to most of us spag bog... but more romantically referred to as ragu in Bologna) and wine. The pasta was truly amazing, our favourite dishes being: ricotta tortellini with lemon and parmigiana; pumpkin ravioli with oil and parmigiana.
We had some outstanding wine, including a delicate but rich white; and a few great dessert wines (including a fabulous Marsala).
We got the train to Modena for a few hours, but unfortunately very heavy rain for 24 hours put a slight ‘dampener’ on it.
We also went for a long walk through the surrounding hills of Bologna, extremely peaceful and so very green.
